Sweet Sorghum Syrup, or Molasses as the locals call it, has been a family tradition here on “Tarwater Stretch” since the mid 1800’s. We are just trying to keep the tradition going and make a product our ancestors would be proud to put the family name on. Proverbs 22:1
We plant from late May to early July and usually harvest late September through October. If you come into Sevierville on Chapman Highway and it looks like folks are havin’ a good ole time putting in the hard work around a steaming pan of syrup, stop on in and say howdy. We enjoy sharing the tradition, stories, and maybe a hot biscuit or two.
